Buckets.co review

Free versions
I’ve been using Buckets.co for about a month now. I stumbled across it while watching a YouTube video and gave it a go. I had previously looked at Trello, but hadn’t kept on top of it. Buckets.co works in the same principle as Trello, where you create columns and in each column you can add a new card. Once you’ve typed in the title hit enter and it automatically opens up to allow you to make notes, add checklists, add attachments, labels (colour-coded) and card due dates. You can allow access to other users, to collaborate on tasks. It then shows in the card activity what was added/amended. In the card due date you can amend start/end dates and times, add reminders including reminders for other users. This also adds the card to the timeline and to the calendar.
What I used it for:
I created column 1 – To do – Red
column 2 – Doing –Yellow
column 3 – Done – Green
column 4 – Personal – Blue
You can drag the cards into any column with ease. So I move each of mine as I work on them.
You can add flashy background photos, but to be quite honest they are a distraction for me. I like the plain and simpleness.

Trello/Atlassian
So Trello can do everything I’ve mentioned for Buckets.co, plus more.
You can add backgrounds to the whole board, and to each of the cards
You can add members to collaborate
Add labels and create colour coded systems for easy identification
Add checklists
Add dates
Add attachments
Add custom fields
Move, copy
Make templates
Watch – Keep an eye on activities on selected boards/cards

You can star favourite boards.
Automation: Create rules that automatically respond to actions, schedule or card due dates.
Buttons – Create custom buttons on the back of every card or at the top of the board.
Email reports – Set up email reports, such as weekly summaries cards due in 7 days.
Power-ups – Add on and integrations with Google drive, drop box and many more.
Filter options – Search/show specific cards, e.g. Overdue, due next day, certain labels or other criteria.
You can add stickers, which to me makes it look a little cheap ( not business like), so I wouldn’t use.

Asana
30 day free trial
Asana is pretty much gives the same as the previous two mentioned, but aesthetics are laid out differently. There is an inbox/messaging section, reports, set goals and integrations with a huge amount of other programs. In the cards you can set priorities, by high- low.

Pricing
Buckets.co – Free
Trello – Free up to $15
Asana – Free for 30 day then up to £21
Conclusion
As with any product it depends what you need it for. I don’t need anything too complicated or colourful, just the basics serve the purpose in which I would use it for, for now. I liked the fact Buckets.co is free so that was my first tick. It was easy to use without having to look up or follow instructions, which meant I could just get on and use it.
Now if Buckets.co or the other free versions don’t support what you need it for then I can see why you would use another program, possibly a paid version with more options. So in conclusion, have a go at each one and decide which meets the criteria for your business needs.
