Take the risk. Just about everything in life has a little bit of risk involved. For example: the projects you start, drilling that first hole in the wall for the curtain pole, or buying a second hand piece of tech etc etc.
Or if you are braver than me it could be skydiving, bungee jumping, you get the picture?
More often than not we are more scared before we start then actually during the event.
So whether its starting a business, outsourcing for the first time, or something else do your research and take the risk. You never know it could be the best decision you make.
In the virtual assistant world, a lot of Virtual Assistants started of doing the 9-5, working for someone else. I read so many stories from VAs that were brave and took the risk. They leave their 9-5 because they were unhappy in their job. The work they were doing they enjoyed, but not the way they were treated or the office politics. When you are just getting into the swing of things, working away, engrossed in the task…before you know it the boss is stood in front of you, asking if you can urgently do something. Which you know isn’t as urgent as they are claiming it to be. It gets to their heads you know, this being boss business.
Being disturbed by the phone going off every 10 minutes? Did you know it takes an average of 25 minutes to refocus each time you are disturbed from the task you were doing. It becomes impossible to get anything done.
It’s a different world being a virtual assistant.
Its a different world being a virtual assistant.
Things you can do to eliminate being disturbed: turn off notifications for emails, silence your phone & go for a wee.
The bonus us you don’t have someone over your shoulder barking at you for the next task before this one is finished. As long as the work is done that you promised your client would be done, then its up to you what you do in between. Take on as much or as little as you like, depending on the financial side of things. But if you can cover your bills, food, savings etc by doing the hours you choose, and the work you choose, then you’d be mad not to do it. So, take the risk, you’ll thank yourself later!
